with Dawn Bradley
What I'll be talking about
I reached out to my talented friend Dawn Bradley who specialises in teaching and mentoring creative service providers on how to earn more while stressing less. We’re talking about raising prices without raising your anxiety, plus how to find extra money in your salon business without working more hours.

LET’S MEET OUR GUEST – dawn bradley
Dawn Bradley is the creator of Rock Your Business (a stress-free guide to earning 6-figures), and the host of The Anxious Creative Podcast. A hairstylist for 19 years, she has worked all over the world with some of the top names in the beauty industry, such as Ian Michael Black, Antoinette Beenders and Anthony Nader.
Named by Salon Magazine as Canada’s #1 women of influence, she has built an audience of thousands of creatives who learn from her weekly on how to build profitable and sustainable careers.
Her work has been featured in Global News, Fashion Magazine and she has been named one of Canada’s finest bridal stylists in WeddingBells Magazine. She has also been featured in London’s LifeScape Magazine and on online blogs such as Great Lengths and Style Me Pretty.
Through her appearances on podcasts, speaking engagements and coaching programs she has taught thousands of creatives around the globe how to earn 6-figures stress-free. Some of her students have been able to cut back their hours, eliminate stress, and double their income within six months of working with her.
Basically, she is a magic maker with proven strategies designed to help hairdressers and salon owners! I am so excited to be talking with her in this episode about how to raise your prices with anxiety and enforce cancellation policies with kindess.
The Anxious Creative
I love how Dawn shares her authentic self with vulnerability and real-life stories of when things don't go exactly to plan in her podcast ‘The Anxious Creative’ and across her social media. It's so relatable!
It is nerve wracking to raise your prices and enforce boundaries with kindness but with practice and strategies it’s totally possible to become confident and calm whilst doing so.
3 WAYS TO MAKE MORE MONEY WITHOUT WORKING MORE:
- You will need to invest in some Choppers (sharp shears that chop hair without any bend)
- If we talk about salon pricing going up we need to talk to salon clients about your prices going up with kindness and compassion because relationships are the basis of our business & it is ok to raise your prices when expenses increase and your goals increase
- Dawn polled 1,000 hairdressers about late cancels and no shows and how they can lose up to $15,000 a year with this, and when you enforce this you can find the extra $15,000 in your biz without working more hours.
- Another way to find more money in your salon biz, is to pop a post it note in your drawer, ask a question to every client about retail instead of assuming they don’t want something, for example, “would you like to take this home to try it”? Because an extra $300 a week can lead to $15,000 more a year.
