What we'll be talking about

In this episode, we’re talking about a brand new online education site for hairdressers that connects educators and events with our industry all in one place.

Have you ever seen an event shared on social media that was in your city and you wished you were there but knew nothing about it? Or perhaps you’re an educator or want to become one and you’re struggling to know more about planning dates in particular locations that don’t clash with another guest artist with a massive following. Wouldn’t it be easy if independent artists and branded education could be found all in the same place? Just because I don’t stock a certain brand doesn’t mean I don’t want to learn their techniques or see their guest artists present.

I have been booked by brands before and had the event cancelled due to the sales team not selling enough tickets & felt really disappointed that the few people who were keen to attend now miss out on learning with me.

There must be a better way to centralise this in one place…

and that’s exactly what my guest Clive Allwright and the team at Piloroo have done.

LET’S MEET OUR GUEST – clive allwright

Clive Allwright has been in the hairdressing industry for over 30+ years. He is the co-owner of Sydney salon ‘Our Space’ with Kelly Grant. They are regular guest speakers at numerous industry events.

Clive has created education programs for brands Paul Mitchell & Muk and KMS. Clive also created numerous photographic campaigns with step-by-step haircutting tutorials for KMS Global, also Muk online education platform.
Clive is a talented haircutter and extremely humble with a passion for ocean swimming.
He has showcased his cutting skills on a global stage for the past 35+ years. He also has a great sense of humour & is passionate about the future of hairdressing by continuing to develop programs to support apprentices, trainees and veteran hairdressers to grow through education.

What is Piloroo all about?

Piloroo is a Sydney-based start-up who are 100% committed to building a better marketplace for hair stylists, educators, salons and the general public. Their online platform offers salons a diverse choice when searching for a hair educator. Simultaneously, they offer stylists additional work, when it suits them, paid promptly and at rates they set.

This is fantastic news for our industry! All brands are welcome. All levels of experience can join the site and post their education event. And because it’s for the hair, beauty and wellness industry only there’s no competition with music or arts events that often dominate regular ticketing sites. On other sites, Hairdressers can get a little lost because of the overwhelming number of events in their city.

If you live outside of Australia and want to visit for a vacation that’s tax deductible, this site can help connect you to find and (easily) book Aussie education events. Might be time to book your airline tickets and come attend one of my workshops in 2024 in Australia or perhaps one of my hair besties events on Piloroo.

Why should I join Piloroo?
