I love a roundup or an “It’s a Wrap” end-of-year debrief because it makes you realise there are things to celebrate and to be grateful for. I think the year's theme was to live life colourfully judging by the rainbows, colourful travel destinations, and colour-themed hair vids shared across my social media for my brand and how I represented myself at industry events online and in-person.

I have so many plans for next year, I can’t wait to travel more and to teach in-salon private team trainings and for my (new!!) host-me-in-your-space programs aimed at solo operators and freelancers, as well as teaching/coaching lots of online education and podcast creation. I can’t wait!

Whenever I teach or attend a workshop as a student and learn something new I like to journal at the end of that day. When I work with a team I call it a debrief and I’m happy for you to steal this strategy to use in your salon. This could be an activity for a monthly in-salon meeting or quarterly and whenever you or your team attend training. I’ll be sharing how it’s done by demonstrating my own debrief for the podcast and the last 12 months of my salon and education business with you.

• I tallied the number of students I taught this year and it exceeded 20,300 hairdressers. WOW!!! This includes a combination of my free masterclasses and having more than 200 hairdressers in my online course community.
• I’m celebrating that my website has been elevated to include 3 new pages that were designed by Heriya to help you scale your business, make more money, and invest in fabulous digital products and memberships that have transformed my brand and business.

• YOU! Yes, you for reading this blog and for listening to the show!  Knowing that you are learning and feeling connected by listening to my podcast during 2023 has kept me pushing through to produce a podcast every week. 
• I am grateful for my clientele. I have more than 120 clients that have visited me this year. They are my ideal clients seeking the style of colour work and transformations I love to do. I am grateful that clients who no longer align with my professional boundaries and salon policies have chosen to go to another salon and see another hairdresser. 
• I am grateful for my team, and my friends and family continually believing in me. They help me keep it real and stay grounded during busy periods and challenging times as a business owner, and they have been by my side to support me and celebrate my wins.
