I am really excited about this episode because marketing and public relations is something you can manage yourself, when you have a few insider tips to know how to do so. Because after all, you know you and you know what type of work you want to attract, right? And just in case you are not sure who your dream client is, or what sort of work you want to attract I suggest listening to Episode 9 of the Colour Kristina Talks podcast where I share tips on creating a niche clientele plus tips on building a personal brand.
I even share my own brand’s mood boards on my website blog page to help you feel inspired to create your own brand colours and mood board, as the downloadable learning resource to help you get started on your own branding with clarity (EP 9).
My photographic work has been published in over 30 countries.
I have been interviewed and quoted in magazines that include Vogue, Cleo, Cosmo, Oyster, Harpers & YEN which are aimed at consumers and clients. Plus I have been a regular contributor to industry media within Australia an internationally.
Here are the 3 things you NEED TO KNOW about how to write a media release:
- STEP 1 – Write a list of every magazine or print publication you would like to be featured in, and then write down the reason why. This could include industry or consumer magazines, or online social media communities where you ideal clients hang out.
- STEP 2 – Research the names of each publications editor or publisher or best person to contact, or the name of group administrators. This step takes a little time to complete, but is necessary to have your media database ready for launching your media releases.
- STEP 3 – Create a media release. I have created a few samples and a template for you to look at in a mini ebook on my website. This ebook suggests a few different page layouts and a checklist of things to include in each media release. And send out to relevant places.
I share my exact approach for this type of exposure and share with you a sample press release template on my website as your downloadable freebie resource, when you head to the blog page. This will be a game-changer for you if you are currently sitting nervously at your computer not sure where to start or how to layout the page or email.
