2 must-have Colour Strippers for your salon
What I'll be talking about
Wondering which colour stripper is the best for you in your salon? Is it better to use Bleach or Colour Remover? In this episode, we answer those questions and I will reveal the only 2 Colour Strippers that you need to know.
Let’s talk colour strippers and why they scare us so much! I have one that I know and love that works with every single hair colour brand that I want to share with you in this episode.
Last week I promised I would publish a 3-part mini series on converting Blonde or Balayge clients to copper and back again in 3 easy to digest bit-size pieces, and this is part 3 for you to take a deep dive into colour strippers and removers.
In case you missed the last 2 podcasts make sure you go back and check them out because Copper is trending! We have been discussing how to convert Blonde to Copper (and back again!) in a 3-part series, including this conversation about Colour Strippers.
Copper Hair Colour is global colour trend that is spicy, fabulous and exciting for clients to be requesting… but we do need to be realistic that some will want to return blonde and it’s totally possible with the pro tips and strategies I am sharing with you in this podcast.
Show notes for episode 117
There are 2 colour strippers you need for your salon:
- One that is suitable for oxidate dye reduction, including tints, demi-permanents and toners.
- One that is suitable for direct dye removal (if you do vivids and direct dyes).
That’s it! Listen to this podcast to discover the best brands and options for these 2 strippers.
To bleach or not to bleach? That is the question
Bleach is rarely the best option for removing colour on a client that has previously been blonde, so it is important to understand strategies for colour reducing that are bleach-free.
PRO TIPS ON COLOUR STRIPPERS:
- With blonde to copper transformations that want to go back to blonde the best option is stripper as opposed to bleaching the copper out to be blonde again
- Blonde to brown and back to blonde the best option is also stripper
- I suggest always test stranding bleach and a colour stripper to ensure you have a realistic end result in mind that your cliet will be happy with
- My favourite colour stripper is bleach-free becuase it doesn’t lift or lighten the natural colour
- Colour Strippers should not contain bleach if you are only wanting to lift or shift artifical coour in the hair
