Wondering if setting up an Instagram shop is for you? In this episode, we answer that question and dive deep into the importance of growing an engaged audience. Social Media is for your business. Learn how to use your time wisely.
Vivienne Johns is a Salon Owner & a Freelance Session Stylist that also teaches Social Media for Hairstylists. We have both been featured on the How to Cut it in Hairdressing podcast & connected on Instagram earlier this year. I just love her feed. There’s so much to learn just from scrolling through. She is a wiz at canva and creating a strong brand message to help hair stylists learn to love socials for client attractions and so much more.

if you are making content, you could be making money
Are you making the most of the Instagram shopping feature?
If you are making content on Insta (you are probably already doing this), you could be making money. And if you have an instagram account and want to make money, but don't have much time to keep making fresh content…. never fear! We have plenty of ideas for you to repurpose brand imagery and stock photos of your stockists websites. Vivienne share all her methods that she used effectively to take her salon from nearly bankrupt a few years ago to becoming an award-winning busy bustling salon using Instagram.
We will be talking about how anyone, no matter how big or small their account … can make money through instagram. No more chasing the 10,000 follower number! Vivienne has discovered the joys of Instagram shopping, and plans to share her exact steps that she has used successfully in her own salon including insta shopping tags. We will also discuss the importance of growing an engaged audience as opposed to counting follower number growth and like every Colour Kristina Talks podcast there's bound to be a little fun and a lot of learning tools that you can implement immediately to scale your biz.
vivienne's step by step guide to setting up instagram shopping
- Make sure you have a BUSINESS account on both Instagram and Facebook and make sure they are linked.
- Sign up for Business Manager on Facebook
- Go to Commerce Manager
- Set up your Facebook shop
- Go to catalogue and add products, make this easy for yourself right now and steal an image off google images and text from the product website.
- Back to Instagram > settings > business > shopping
- Sign up for Instagram shopping, this is the bit that can take up to a week. Your account will be reviewed, once you are accepted you will see your products in your catalogue.
- You are good to go!!! Get Selling! Remember, there is a tonne of content available for you to use and share to your stories already, if an influencer is using the product you are selling, share that content, you are growing your reach AND giving credibility to your product to your audience. Or make your own content. Totally up to you.
