OMG! SalonScale is the best profit app for Hairdressers!

What we'll be talking about

In this episode, we’re talking about how SalonScale technology helps to create profitable salons and stylists in the hair industry and why you need one.

Whether you are a Stylist, Colourist or Salon Owner, SalonScale is designed for you! SalonScale is an app paired with a web dashboard that’s designed to help salon professionals track costs in real-time for every service.

In 2017, founder Alicia Soulier was facing the same problem many salon owners and stylists have today: “How do I control the hair colour being free poured in my salon, make sure my costs are covered and reduce waste?” The solution to this problem? SalonScale Technology Inc. created by stylists for stylists. The female-led company launched in 2018. There are more than 5500+ creative colourists around the globe that have made the switch and are seeing more profit in their salons, including me! SalonScale is more than just an app… it’s a movement toward hairdressers running successful, profitable and sustainable businesses.

LET’S MEET OUR GUEST – Alicia Soulier

Alicia Soulier, is the Founder & CEO of SalonScale.

From award-winning stylist to entrepreneur, Alicia Soulier has dedicated over 16 years to the beauty industry. As the owner and creative director of Capelli Salon Studio for over 10 years, Alicia noticed a leak in her business that was directly affecting her bottom line: the color bar. Without the proper technology to account for the cost of hair color, many color sessions were walking out the door unpaid for. This discovery led to the creation of SalonScale, an advanced hair salon back bar software that has now earned Alicia the title of “tech founder” into her portfolio. Today, Alicia intends to use technology to disrupt the hair salon supply chain and ultimately help create profitable salons and stylists in the hair industry.

SalonScale helps your business be profitable and sustainable

Ask yourself – Am I paying myself properly and reporting tax correctly for efficiency when reporting the cost of goods associated with services? That’s ok if you’re not or unsure if you’re doing it correctly because this podcast conversation will help you understand how the many features of SalonScale will help you do that.

As you mix, SalonScale will track the exact formula down to the gram in your client's profile. Easily access and remix previous formulas or leave notes to know what changes to make for future applications and avoid over-mixing and product wastage. SalonScale gives you the number or pricing of every product you are using as you are using it. It helps to charge appropriately and charge effectively for stock replenishment.

There is even a feature that helps to generate orders based on the amount of product you have used. This feature has radically reduced my spending in my salon by nearly half. I have stopped the guessing game and feeling pressured to say yes to new products when sales reps push me to order more. If it's not on my list generated by the app I don’t order it! Simple.

It’s kind of a game-changer for our industry!

I love the app so much that I have partnered with Salonscale with an incredible offer for my podcast listeners. Click here to find out more.

MY FAVOURITE APP FEATURES:

“ If it can be measured it can be managed.”

– Alicia

This is the belief and thought process behind this app that is revolutionising the hair industry.

The backbar is your 3rd profit area in your business. In this podcast, we discuss the variables to consider for freelancers and solo operators versus salon owners of commission salons, plus the different options with hourly pricing versus a la carte.

There is no set black and white blueprint for salons to follow, which is why it’s so important to be tracking and managing your own business to be profitable and sustainable.

When it comes to strategic pricing, you really need to know the variable parts of our business.
