3 methods to grow your (engaged) audiences on social media
-
Key Point #1: Consistency
- Weekly episodes have been my goal with the podcast since launch date. Consistency is also very important with social media, client newsletters, branding and your style of work in the salon
- I talk about what happens when you're not consistent
- Life happens, and sometimes a rest is key, but get back on track and choose the 2 platforms that you want to focus on. Eg; instagram and facebook. Or instagram and client emails…. My recent need for help was to outsource Six Underground Media social media tiles or content packages… also there’s websites like Unsplash for free stock photography, and just try google for hair trends and remember to mix it up with 70% curation / 30% content
Key Point #2: Engaging
- This is how I grey my instagram from 0 to 1,000 in just a few months. I engaged like a MOFO.
- If we are not already connected on my NEW insta @colourkristinatalkspocast please jump on one of my posts and leave a comment… I will do the same. That’s how we connect, right? But also follow me and engage with genuine comments. Take the time to read the post and reply in a comment with something relatable.
- Wondering how to grow engagement? Simple. Engage with others…. For example, Set a timer for 15 minutes or 30 minutes everyday and follow and comment as many accounts in your targeted market as possible. Do the same thing the next day and the next and the next…. Then next month go into your followers and engage with them for 30 minutes a day, leave comments and ask questions in the comments and build engagement… then the alternate months go looking for new accounts and repeat the process. This grows genuine engagement and engaged followers.
Key Point #3: Learning from my mistakes
- This year I have made so many mistakes. I have had to learn to accept and move on very quickly.
- I have needed to step so far out of my comfort zone that I couldn’t even imagine working like I do this time last year…. I have learnt that mistakes are ok. And if I make mistakes I just record it or share in a podcast and then direct you to the solution, for example when I forgot to attach the first 20 blogs and podcast freebies. What a nightmare! I learnt and moved on.
- Mistakes can be a great place to sit in for a while. Mistakes can make you appear less perfect and more approachable. So perhaps learning from mistakes is a great thing to teach clients how to style or tone their hair at home using techniques you teach them with products you sell them, and allow them share mistakes from the past and you offer them a solution… or create a fun insta reel showing a mistake and a solution. Brilliant!!
