LET’S MEET OUR GUEST – Jessica Patton
Jessica is a Virtual Assistant turned business coach for Hairdressers who loves all things tech! She teaches her clients about email marketing strategies and cash flow forecasting, and she also loves talking about goal setting and social media! When she reached out to ask me to be on the show I got really excited because I knew she was going to help us so much to find a sweet balance between email marketing and social media without all the overwhelm.
Jessica’s areas of expertise encompass email marketing strategies and cash flow forecasting, in addition to her fondness for discussing goal setting and social media. From her humble beginnings as a shy student, Jessica has blossomed into a well-regarded keynote speaker and podcast guest, offering inspiration to others.
In her view, technology can be a challenging subject for hairdressers, but she is committed to boosting their confidence in this domain, which she believes has the potential to streamline and automate numerous aspects of their work, including social media management.
Jessica has a freebie titled “Social Media Mastery for Beauty Pros.” Plus she provides VIP days and strategy calls to help hairstylists implement effective strategies within their businesses.
We love automations and repurposing. Here’s why…
Jessica and I are both big fans of creating a piece of content once and repurposing it in several placements. If you pick 12 themes or topics you already have your 12 content pillars for the year ahead. Each of them can become a blog and a newsletter. Plus all your social media posts and captions should link your clients to that blog and have pro tips on the same theme as your email theme. These ideally would motivate customers to book with you and buy whatever product or service you’re focusing on that month.
PRO TIPS FOR CLIENT NEWSLETTERS:
- Monthly newsletters is a great way to start. Pick 12 topics or themes that correlate with your promotions, bundled services or seasonal trends.
- Always include what specials you’re offering and what’s going on in the salon with easy-to-book links or a phone number inserted if you don’t offer online bookings.
- Every email you send out to your customers must include a click link for booking and a click link to all your social media platforms.
- Using apps for scheduling apps for social media can be very helpful to batch content when you have time. Similarly, you can write your email newsletter ahead of sending and schedule this for a time that gets you the most possible opens (hint: business hours in your local timezone are often a good place to start, for example, the first Monday of the month at 11 am).
- Jessica loves Flow Desk for scheduling newsletters – contact her for a 50% off code to help you get started.
- If you want some expert guidance and help with your emails and finding the perfect balance between social media and email marketing it’s a good idea to work with a coach. I recommend reaching out to Jessica. Links below.
