The hair and beauty industry has always been considered a safer space for people within the LGBTQI community, but we still have a long way to go with education, acceptance, and understanding how to make sure as an industry that works so closely with our community and clients that we continually forward momentum.

LET’S MEET OUR GUEST – Megan Evans
Megan Evans has a passion for creative colour and technique and loves creating colours, cuts, and styles that are complimentary and flattering for her clients. he has now been in the industry for 20 years. Megan is now the successful owner of In Awe Salon in Adelaide Australia.
Megan has been a part of the MATRIX Australia Design Team, where she shared her capacity to influence colour direction through teaching commercial colour techniques. Additionally, she has developed a positive brand alliance with GOLDWELL.
Megan is passionate about education and encourages her staff to dream and imagine beyond what they see. She also believes that hairdressers hold a unique space within the community and play a role in their clients' mental health care plans.
Her dream is to create a travelling road show for high school students to show them the career and life-changing opportunities and fun within the hairdressing industry.
She has received several awards and accolades, including being a finalist for the 2020 AHFAs SA/TAS Hairdresser of the Year, winner of the 2019 AHFAs SA/TAS Hairdresser of the Year, a finalist for the 2019 AHFAs Creative Colorist of the Year, artistic guest artist with MATRIX Australia from 2017-2020, and owner of In Awe Salon since 2012. Additionally, she is a finalist for the 2021 AIPP Awards.
