What we'll be talking about
In this episode, I’m breaking down exactly how I get consistent 5-star Google reviews from salon clients — without begging, bribing, or awkward conversations. I’ll share the exact message I send, how I automate the process with Timely salon software, and why reviews are a powerful magnet for dream clients who are searching for a red or copper colour expert like you.
Episode 200. Can you believe it?! The Colour Kristina Talks Podcast has officially hit a major milestone, and I’m celebrating by giving you something juicy you can steal.
In this episode, I’m sharing the exact script I use to get 5-star Google reviews from my salon clients — without awkward convos, begging, or bribing. It’s the same strategy I teach inside my coaching and education programs, and you can literally copy + paste it into your texts, software, or Timely templates.
If you’ve been struggling to build your salon’s online reputation, or you’re ready to attract more red-loving, copper-craving clients who already trust you before they even DM; this one’s for you.

How to Get More Google Reviews for Your Hair Salon
Getting great reviews doesn’t have to feel awkward. And you don’t need hundreds of clients to get started. You just need a clear plan, the right timing, and a message that makes it easy for people to say “yes.”
In this episode, I share why Google reviews are the most powerful free marketing tool we have as hairdressers — and why they matter more than social likes or followers when it comes to attracting new clients.
I’ll walk you through:
- How I use Timely automations to request reviews without lifting a finger
- What I do differently when sending manual review texts
- And my verbatim message you can copy and paste right now into your software, phone, or reminder templates.
If you've ever hesitated to ask for reviews because it feels too salesy or time-consuming — this is your permission slip to stop overthinking it and start taking action.
PRO TIPS FOR GETTING GOOGLE REVIEWS FROM SALON CLIENTS:
Ask 24–48 hours after their appointment when their hair is freshly styled and they’re still feeling confident.
Include a clickable review link, not just a request — make it easy!
Reviews with before and after photos are seen by more people.
Use keywords in your review message like “red haircolour,” “copper specialist,” and your salon location.
Automate your review requests using tools like TimelyPay to save time and stay consistent.
Also, if you want to avoid Root Glow, Banding and other haircolour Fvck-Ups that are much more common with REDS than Blondes or Brunettes — I’ve got something BIG for you. If you’re ready to:
Stop stressing over copper root glow.
Get that pay rise and raise your salon colour prices.
Go ALL in on becoming the go-to expert colourist in your city. It’s time to take action.

“Thanks again for coming to see me for your haircolour at AH Salon in Surry Hills. I’d love it if you could leave a quick Google review. Writing about your transformation and experience really helps others who are searching for a red or copper hair specialist in Sydney.
When you leave your review, please upload the before and after photo I’ve sent you (or the before with a selfie you took) — Google reviews with photos get seen by way more people!
You can mention what your hair was like before, how the final colour made you feel, or anything about the process you loved. Words like Red Haircolour, copper, Auburn, Cherry, strawberry blonde, shiny, or custom colour are great if they suit your look.
