Social Media Habits Hairdressers Should Adopt right now
with Jodie Brown

What I'll be talking about
Personal Branding and what you are posting on social media is not the same thing. You have probably been told to be successful as a hairdresser or salon owner you need to build a personal brand to attract clients.
Intentionally & authentically creating your brand as a salon professional will allow you to command higher prices, target the exact clients you want to work with, look and feel like a pro & quickly build that “know, like and trust” factor with your clients.

LET’S MEET OUR GUEST – Jodie Brown
Jodie Brown is a veteran hairstylist with 15 years of experience turned branding + marketing strategist just for beauty pros. Her mission is to teach beauty pros to market themselves effectively to attract dream clients and create endless freedom and opportunity within their businesses. After helping hundreds of hairstylists, educators + beauty pros achieve their goals she has learned that dialling in your marketing leads to exactly that. She’s here to take the stress out of marketing and help you connect with your dream clients (so you can build a career and life you are obsessed with.)
Why do you need to build a brand as a stylist?
The best days working in the salon chair are those days you are with the people you enjoy connecting with and spending your time with. This is an important part of the reason to build a brand. And it is also so empowering to build a business with confidence about when to choose a location or make a decision to work with a particular brand. Very important for independents to have the clarity to create a consistent message to attract dream clients.
Building a clientele online is the most empowering ability and skill. Instagram is great because you can build a local audience. It is made for beauty professionals & connect with other local business & local people. It is the best place to build a personal brand.
3 BRANDING TIPS TO AVOID:
- Getting advice from the wrong sources (eg: a coach aimed at selling Instagram to other marketing coaches as opposed to advice to building a local salon clientele)
- Not being authentic
- Being scared to get specific about what you do/sell/offer
