How to Scale Your Salon Biz with Online Bookings
with Larissa Macleman

What we'll be talking about
Wondering if online bookings are the key to your salon's success? In this episode, we answer that question.
Most hair salons these days are offering online bookings with tremendous success, however, there are still so many hairdressers and salon owners that are scared to offer this booking service in fear their appointment books will be a disaster because clients won’t know what to book. There are several fears that are compounded by negative experiences we’ve all had in the salon & the concerns around a black box dye booking in at 7 pm for a colour correction with a cut and blowdry is enough to freak anyone out that doesn’t want to work until 3 am the next morning, but that’s not always the case, and with the right strategies your salon business can thrive by offering online booking options for your clients.
Most salon appointment systems that offer online bookings are cloud based & this means they can be accessed from anywhere on any device. Fabulous for freelancers, self-employed hairdressers, commission salon employees and salon owners wanting to check schedules and book appointments. And it’s great news for your clients because they can book appointments whenever they want without the need to contact you to do it for them.

Remove the fear & start offering online bookings
In this episode of the Colour Kristina Talks Podcast, we discuss the 3 biggest fears that hairdressers have around how to set up online bookings and share strategies to prevent those fears from becoming a reality.
- Fear Number 1 – Computers don’t know the unique timings for bookings (fact: online booking systems ar customisable)
- Fear Number 2 – Once a booking has been made online it is not changeable or movable (fact: bookings are pencilled in when made online & you’ll have the ability to edit to suit you if needed and contact the client when needed. Don’t stress about this one!)
- Fear Number 3 – Some Hairdressers are scared of looking too available online & worried this might reflect they are not talented enough (fact: Online software systems will only show you available spots for those available services & in fact, clients love being able to get a booking sooner than expected)
